An incident of high kindness by two children was reported on Makra Sankranti/Pongal from Tamil Nadu.
The State’s government had announced that it would offer Rs 2,500 cash and sugar cane and clothes through ration shops to people on the occasion of Pongal.
70-year-old widow Subbulakshmi, raising an intellectually disabled daughter, had left home to get those freebies in spite of her ill health.
However, after walking for some time she collapsed.
Twin brothers, 9 years old Nitin and Nitish, who were playing nearby, learned from Subbulakshmi of her situation and quickly arranged a hand-pulled cart and took her to the ration shop.
This act of kindness by the boys has been widely praised on social networking websites.
