Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is expected to allocate portfolios to the newly-inducted cabinet ministers after Union Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Karnataka on January 16-17.

The exercise of allocation of portfolios was supposed to be done on January 14 but the same has been rescheduled as the Chief Minister was away, said sources.

Yediyurappa who holds charge of Bengaluru development, energy, tourism, Kannada and culture, and sports and youth empowerment is likely to hand over a few of these portfolios.

Murugesh Nirani, a new inductee is eyeing the industries department, as he headed it during his previous stint but the chief minister may not be able to fulfil it as the portfolio is currently held by Jagadish Shettar.
