New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials raided its own headquarters in New Delhi and booked four officials for allegedly taking bribes from a company accused in bank fraud cases.
Searches were conducted at 14 locations in Delhi and its neighbouring areas, including the homes and offices of the officials in Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Meerut and Kanpur.
The anti-corruption unit of the CBI has filed a case against its officials — RK Rishi, a DSP (deputy superintendent of police) rank officer posted at CBI Academy in Ghaziabad, DSP RK Sangwan, and two officials from BSFC (Banking Security & Fraud Cell), inspector Kapil Dhankad and steno Sameer Kumar Singh.
The CBI is said to be investigating a Mumbai-based firm for allegedly cheating a consortium of banks of over Rs 3,500 crore and setting up shell companies with that money.
