Udupi: Rural Handicrafts Fair becomes crowd-puller

Udupi: A Rural Handicrafts Fair has been organized here for the 500th anniversary of Sri Krishna matha’s Paryaya. The fair started on January 16 and will run until the January 23.
Products on sale include sarees, grass and wooden artefacts, organic products, leather products and clay artefacts from West Bengal, Orissa, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar,
Rural artisanal products from Belagavi, Hubballi, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Sirsi, Kundapura, Bengaluru and Udupi are also on sale.
On the first day of the fair, footfall was in the hundreds.
This national-level fair, exhibition and sale of rural artisanal products has been organized with the objective of encouraging rural artists, said Paryaya Shri Eeshapriya Teertha Sripadar and organised of the fair Purushottam Adve.
