Bengaluru: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board is considering the use of QR code to provide more security to SSLC students’ marksheet.
The Board’s proposition is that it is convenient to obtain information and prevent duplication of marksheets using the QR code.
If the government approves the proposal the system is likely to be introduced in the 2020-21 academic year.
For almost all occupational and educational purposes, the SSLC marksheet is required. No matter how much security is provided to it, false marksheet creators continue to invent new ways. Thus the board considered implementing QR code.
There are also plans to upload marksheets on DigiLocker, QR code implementation will happen after that informed a Board official.
“The digitization of all documents is almost complete. We already have a system of applying online for marksheets. We are also considering implementation of QR code to increase the security of the marksheets,” said V Sumangala, director of Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board.
