New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MLA from West Bengal’s Santipur, Arindam Bhattacharya, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Assembly elections in the state this year.

Addressing the media, Arindam Bhattacharya said, ” I had joined the TMC with great hopes. I had big plans for my region, I tried my best to work but people like me were not allowed to progress. Our hands were tied in TMC. Infact, many eligible leaders who wanted to perform and take their area forward were not allowed to work”

Bhattacharya had won the Assembly election on a Congress ticket in 2016 and joined TMC in 2017.
