Police arrest man accused of molesting woman on bus

Mangaluru: Police on Wednesday arrested a 41-year-old man accused of harassing a woman passenger in a private bus here.
The arrested is identified as Hussain, a resident of Kasaragod.
The incident took place on January 14 when the victim was travelling to Pumpwell in a private bus. In an Instagram post, the victim alleged that the accused touched her inappropriately even as co-passengers remained silent spectators to the incident. Later, when she threatened to post his photo on social media, the accused posed for the same.

The police registered a suo-moto case on the basis of the viral post. When they contacted the victim, she agreed to file a case against the accused.
City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar lauded the woman for her bold action.
