Bengaluru: Several farmer groups in Karnataka have decided to take out a tractor rally in Bengaluru on Republic Day in solidarity with their counterparts in Delhi.

Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha leader Kodihalli Chandrashekhar said, “Instead of heeding to farmers’ demands, the Government is pushing farmers into a corner by adopting the laws, along with the prohibition on cow slaughter. Hence, we have decided to take out a tractor rally in Bengaluru”

“The rally will start in Bengaluru right after the Republic Day address by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and will be taken out through the main roads in the city to culminate at Freedom Park, ” he added

As reported by News Minute,  similar protests will be held in all district headquarters in the state by farmers over the same issue. Other than farmers’ groups, student and labour unions, women and Dalit groups are also likely to join this rally.
