Chamrajnagar: Madamma, a resident of Hosapodu village within Punajanuru gram panchayat in the taluk has been selected to represent Karnataka in the Republic Day celebrations at New Delhi.

Former APMC president BK Ravikumar sent her off to the national capital from here.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the selection of Madamma to represent Karnataka at the Republic Day celebrations and to view the parade has brought great honour to the district. Madamma has been raising awareness against superstitious beliefs in tribals and has also been involved in educating them.

“We are very happy that the central government has invited Madamma for the Republic Day and a tour of Delhi,” he added.
