Udupi: Man who went to collect shells accidentally drowns in lake

Katapady: A man who was collecting seashells at Udyavara’s Papanashini lake died after accidentally drowning in it.
The deceased has been identified as Austin Machado (41).
An artist by profession, Machado came to the lake on January 28 to collect seashells probably for an art project.
As he did not return home after a long time the family members started a search.
His body was found floating on the lake on January 29 at Udyavara village’s Sampigenagar.
Police officials from Katpady visited the site.
