K’taka Council ruckus: Interim report recommends removing Kota Poojary from position of responsibility

Bengaluru: The interim report of the special committee probing the December 15 ruckus in the State’s Legislative Council has recommended action against 15 ministers and constitution of a special committee for a departmental inquiry against the secretary of the Council.

The MLC Maritibbe Gowda-led special committee presented the 84-page interim report with a CD to the house.

The report states that Secretary to the Council KR Mahalakshmi has failed in her duties and hence must be prevented from acting as the secretary until a final report on the incident was filed.

The report also recommends:
– Three ministers including Kota Srinivas Poojary to be removed from positions of responsibility
– Dr CN Ashwatha Narayana, JC Madhuswamy should be banned from attending 2 sessions of the house
– Pranesh, Narayanaswamy, Arun Shahapur have behaved in an unparliamentary fashion
– Basavaraj Horatti, KT Srikante Gowda, Ayanoor Manju Nath should be banned from attending 2 sessions of the house
