Bantwal: A verbal clash occurred between BJP and Congress leaders and workers on Saturday morning during a visit to the Sarapadi Multi-village Drinking Water Project.
The drinking water project is to be inaugurated by State Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa on January 31.
Congress elected representatives, led by Bantwal taluk panchayat president Chandrahas Karkera arrived at the project site to inspect it before the inauguration.
Soon local BJP leaders and workers arrived at the spot. The police blocked their entry to the project unit by shutting the gate causing a verbal quarrel between members of both the parties.
