Udupi: Army recruitment rally to be organised from from March 17

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner of the district G Jagadeesha said that a recruitment rally by the Indian Army will be organised at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium here from March 17.
Addressing a preliminary meeting of the rally at his office on Monday, the DC said that all those who have already applied online to join the Indian Army from Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Davangere, Gadag, Haveri, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts can attend the rally.
The DC also directed officers of various departments to provide all facilities including sanitation, shamiana, barricades, lighting system, medical and fire service in case of emergencies and police deployment for safety to the more than 38,500 applicants who will be attending the rally.
Jagadeesha also instructed officials from DDPI’s office to provide personnel during the rally to verify educational qualifications’ documents by the applicants.
