Tamil Nadu: Couple dive 60 feet under ocean to marry underwater

Chennai: An engineer couple dived to a depth of 60 feet to get married underwater off the Neelankarai coast on Monday.
V Chinnadurai and S Swetha tied the underwater the crack of dawn on February 1. The couple had their practice sessions in wet suits. On Monday, Chinnadurai and Swetha dived into the water in traditional wedding outfits.
The couple reached the seabed at a distance of 4.5 km from the shore, exchanged garlands and tied the knot before 7.30 am. “We spent around 45 minutes underwater. Flowers were showered and we took a few rounds,” the groom said.
