Udupi: Tanushree Pitrodi from here has set a new record in the Golden Book of World Records by doing ‘backwards body skip’ 55 times in one minute.
In an event organised on Saturday at the St Cecilia Group of Educational Institutions’ hall, Tanushree earned 6th world record for herself.
Manish Vaishnav, India head of the Golden Book of Records, officially declared and delivered the record certificate to Tanushree.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the role of parents is crucial in the success of a child. Adding that all children have talents and they too can make world records like Tanushree. Most children can create world records only when it is recognized and nurtured.
“During the Corona lockdown, I tried to do backward body skip. I could do 20 skips in one minute in the beginning. Then it was possible to do 40. Later I informed my parents about this and with their encouragement now I am able to create a world record,” Tanushree said.
Tanushree, a class 7 student at St Cecilia’s Kannada Medium School, did the difficult Yoga posture, the Niralamba Purna Chakrasana, 19 times in one minute in November 2019 setting a world record in the Golden Book.
On April 7, 2018, she set a Guinness World Records after doing 42 ‘Full Body Revolution Maintaining a Chest Stand Position’ in one minute.
Then on February 23, 2019, she created a record in the ‘Most Number of Rolls in One Minute’ in Dhanurasana and on February 22, 2020, she created another record in Chakrasana race by covering 100 metres in 1 minute and 14 seconds.
