Non-bailable warrant issued against Actress Padmaja Rao

Mangaluru: A non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against popular sandalwood actress, Padmaja Rao. It is said that the warrant has been issued relating to a cheque bounce case

Tulu cinema director, Veerendra Shetty Kavoor claimed that two years back when acting in Tulu movie, ‘Chali Polilu’ Padmaja had borrowed Rs 40 lac and had failed to repay the amount. It is said that Rs 1 lakh was paid in cash and for the rest cheque was issued.

Although, the cheque bounce case was filed in September 2020 , she did  not to respond to the notice. Padmaja also did not respond to the summons.

Following the arrest warrant, Police officials of Thalaghattapura station at Bengaluru, have been instructed to arrest Padmaja and produce her before the court on March 9
