First EVM warehouse in Karnataka at Gadag

Gadag: Sanjiv Kumar, Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer inaugurated the state’s first Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) warehouse on February 11 in Gadag.
The facility has been built at a cost of Rs 2.65 crore.
Apart from being highly-secured, the facility has a first-level checkroom near the entrance and four interconnected halls dedicated to the four Assembly segments in the district. All four halls are equipped with CCTV cameras, fire extinguishers, and emergency alarms.
The warehouse has been provided with dedicated space to store EVMs and VVPATs, under Phase I. An agency has been entrusted with the job of supplying equipment to the warehouse during elections. It will conduct a trial run.
At the inauguration ceremony, State Election Commission Joint Chief Electoral Officer V Raghavendra, Regional Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas, and DC Sundaresh Babu N were present.
