Fire at TN cracker factory; PM announces ₹2L ex-gratia

Tamil Nadu: At least 11 people were killed and 36 others injured in a fire at a firecracker factory in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar on Friday.
The private factory is located in Achangulam area near Sathur. The injured have been admitted to the Sivakasi government hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was saddened by the incident and announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each for families of the deceased. CM Edappadi Palaniswami also announced ₹3 lakh each for families of the deceased.
