Bengaluru: 2.73 lakh kilogram of roses exported by KIA during Valentines’ season

Bengaluru: Kempegowda International airport exported 273,000 kgs of roses to 41 destinations during Valentine’s season said Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL).

This included 6.4 million stems to international destinations like Singapore, London, Kuala Lumpur, Auckland etc and 2.6 million stems to domestic destinations like Kolkata, Delhi, Bagdogra, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, etc.

Bengaluru and Hosur in Tamil Nadu are the major hubs of flower cultivation and the Garden City is one of the largest exporters of roses in India.
