Dutch woman creates woke playing cards

A 23-year-old Dutch psychology graduate angered by the King having more value than the Queen in playing cards has created a new set of them that do not possess the sexual inequalities.
The idea came to her while she was explaining a card game to one of her relative and noticed the value difference of the top King and Queen cards.
After many attempts, she was successful in creating a new set of playing cards that, instead of King, Queen and Joker, has images of precious metals such as gold, silver and bronze.
To date, she has already sold more than 1,500 of her new playing cards to France, Belgium, Germany and the USA.
Chief of the Dutch Bridge Association supported her creation although he was apprehensive of its formal adoption as it would require large amendments of the game’s rules.
