Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV has instructed the district administration to set up three check posts at the border with Kerala to monitor visitors from the State.

This move comes after the State government issued new guidelines for people coming from Kerala as the neighbouring State experienced a spike in positive cases recently.

The new guidelines had made it mandatory for travellers from Kerala to posses a COVID-19 negative test report.

The check posts at the border with Kerala is also proposed to conduct rapid antigen tests for those entering the district.

Those who already have a negative test report must show it at the check post. The reports should not be older than 72 hours, the DC said.
