Udupi: HM Bommai to inaugurate residential quarters for police on Feb 20

Udupi: The inauguration of the new Udupi District and Karkala Police residential quarters will be held on February 20 at 3 pm.
Karnataka state Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate the quarters, while MLA Sunil Kumar will preside over the programme. Muzrai Mininster Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Shobha Karandlaje, and Karnataka DG & IGP Praveen Sood are among the dignitaries who will attend the inauguration ceremony.
The residential quarters is built near the Karkala police station keeping in mind the convenience of the police. The construction work which began in the year 2018, should have been completed by May 2019. Despite the construction work being completed earlier, the apartments lacked basic amenities.
The project has been built at an estimated cost of Rs. 90.20 crore sanctioned by the State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation.
The Residential home comprises two floors and four blocks, which can accommodate 48 families. This facility will be utilized by the police officials in the limits of Ajekar police station in Karkala.
