Mysuru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday alleged that BJP leaders are using Ram Mandir construction for their political benefits.
Responding to KS Eshwarappa’s statement, the Congress leader questioned what s wrong in asking the audit & accounts of the donations received for the temple construction.
“.@BJP4India is playing with the emotions of people in the name of God. It is the duty of the trust to give the accounts of the donations collected to construct the Ram Mandir. What is wrong in asking the audit & accounts?,” Siddaramaiah stated in a tweet.
Earlier Eshwarappa had said that any person who has done a Rs 10 donation could ask for accounts. Siddaramaiah has stated that he will not donate for Ram Mandir. Who is he to ask questions, the RDPR minister had said.
Further Siddaramaiah said, “I am a citizen of India and hence I have the right to ask accounts of Ram Mandir donations, despite not donating any funds, it’s their duty to show the accounts.”
Accusing the ruling government of misusing the Ram Mandir donations, the opposition party leader asserted, ”The hindrance in producing the accounts only means that the funds are being misused.”
In yet another tweet Siddaramaiah said, “We are also constructing a Ram Mandir in our village. Even we have faith in God. Our beliefs are our personal issues and should not be used as a political tool. It is unfortunate that @BJP4India leaders are using Ram Mandir construction for their political benefits.”
