In a remarkable feat, the Abhijna Dance Group, under the auspices of Sri Krishna Math and Paryaya Sri Puttige Math, hosted a 14-hour continuous dance performance featuring 100 dancers. The event, “Udupi Fest 2024,” held at the Madhva Mantapa on Thursday, was an attempt to enter the Karnataka Achiever’s Book of Records. Later in the evening, the dancers also performed at Rajangana, captivating the audience with their artistry.
The event was inaugurated and blessed by Paryaya Sri Puttige Math seer, Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripada.
A diverse group of dancers, including children, women, and artists up to the age of 60, participated in the event, performing classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Prerana. Dance teachers, performers, and parents from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh attended the grand event. In addition to the dance performances, live singing also drew significant attention.
Chandrabanu Chaturvedi, the program’s anchor, was present, and Ravindra Acharya, the cultural secretary of Sri Math, served as the event’s narrator, ensuring the smooth flow of the record-breaking performance.
