Chamarajanagar: 24 patients died in the district COVID-19 hospital here including 12 who died due to lack of oxygen.
Medical oxygen supplies had exhausted in the hospital on Sunday at about 10:30 pm. 12 patients died due to oxygen deficiency while others died from other causes.
The hospital currently has 50 ventilators and 50 oxygen beds. Oxygen was supplied to it from Mysuru two days ago.
Later, the oxygen supplying agency in Mysuru was ordered not to supply oxygen to hospitals outside of the Mysuru district which has caused an oxygen shortage in the Chamarajanagar district.
