12-yr-old boy from Vijayapura tests Covid+ve; day’s tally at 101

Bengaluru: A 12-year-old boy from Vijayapura tested positive for coronavirus taking the day’s tally to 101 cases as on Tuesday, May 26.

The new case happens to be a returnee from Maharashtra.

Earlier in the day 100 cases – 46 returnees from neighboring Maharashtra, 21 from Tamil Nadu, 13 from Jharkhand, one from Gujarat, four with international travel history from Qatar while 10 cases were contacts of patients already tested positive, two with a history of influenza-like illness (ILI), and one with history of SARI.

The day also saw 43 persons being discharged. Till date 748 persons of the 2283 cases confirmed in the state have recovered from the infection.

The state currently has 1489 active cases and recorded 44 coronavirus related deaths.
