13 candidates to contest LS polls: DC Senthil

Managluru: With the deadline to withdraw the nominations ending on Friday March 29, 13 candidates will be contesting for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, informed Dakshina Kannada District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil.

“One candidate withdrew his nomination and the nomination of a candidate, who had filed nominations under two different registered parties, was rejected,” informed the DC.

Voters

As per the voters’ list finalised on March 26, 2019, there are 17,24,566 voters, including 97 trangenders who will be exercising their franchise in the 17th Lok Sabha elections. This time too, women voters (8,79,186) outnumber male voters (8,45,283).
