New Delhi: On this day (June 29) in 2007, Sachin Tendulkar achieved the glory of being the first cricketer in the history of the sport to score 15,000 runs in the one-day international format of the sport.
Sachin achieved the record during the Future Cup series against South Africa at Ireland.
India won the match by 6 wickets and the three match-series.
South Africa batted first and made 226/6.
Sachin and Sourav Ganguly opened for India and scored a partnership century. However, Sourav was dismissed soon after and Sachin too got out at 93.
Sachin retired after making a record of more than 30,000 runs and 100 centuries.
