15 % fare hike likely as pvt buses resume services in 2-3 days

Raichur: Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Sawadi on Friday, May 22 informed that private buses are likely to resume services in the state in next two-three days.

“Public transport had been prohibited owing to the nation-wide lockdown to control Covid-19. The KSRTC buses have already started its services as the government has begun the easing of restrictions in a phased manner. Private buses too will resume their services soon,” Savadi told reporters here.

The transport minister further said that private bus operators were demanding a 50 per cent hike in bus fare to resume services. The government has however consented for a 15 per cent fare hike, he added.
