Ghaziabad, Apr 20 (PTI) The Ghaziabad district administration today sealed 15 illegal denim dyeing units and arrested four persons in raids at Hans Colony here.

The unauthorised dyeing units were allegedly being run by Delhi-based factory owners, SDM (Loni) Prem Ranjan Singh said.

He claimed that these factories were being operated in connivance with staffers of the pollution control board, the electricity department and the municipality.

The units were sealed following complaints by locals that these were allegedly polluting the ground water of the area, Singh said.

Officials of the pollution control board, the electricity department, the municipality and the police sealed the dyeing units, he said.

During the raids, four persons were arrested, the official said.

In a separate raid this afternoon, a factory in Tronica area was found illegally manufacturing hair oil.

The raid was conducted by a team led by Assistant Controller of the Drugs Department, Rajesh Kumar Singh.

Hair oil worth Rs 6 lakh was seized. The factory was being run without licence, Singh said.
