15 year-old held for raping, killing minor

Sringeri: A 12 year-old girl was professedly raped and killed by a 15-year-old boy at a town in Sringeri taluk on Saturday. 

As per the police, the minor girl was kidnapped while she was returning home from school and taken to a close-by forest . Her family discovered her body in a pool of blood near the town later. 

The police held the boy, suspecting his part in the episode. He allegedly confessed to committing the crime. He raped her and brutally murdered her by hitting her head with a huge stone. 

K. Annamalai, SP, said the accused would be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
