15th judge recuses from hearing plea seeking removal of Raghaveshwara Seer

Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court judge Justice P M Nawaaz on Thursday recused himself from hearing a petition seeking removal of Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami as seer of Ramachandrapura Mutt.

The petitioner has alleged the seer’s involvement in financial misappropriation in the mutt administration.

When the case came up for hearing before the bench comprising Chief Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Nawaaz, the latter recused himself from hearing the petition. He is the 15th judge to do so.
