Planting 1000 trees: Eco-friendly initiative by Peace Foundation and Forest Department

Udupi: The Peace Foundation National NGO, an organisation operating in the district on behalf of differently-abled persons, in collaboration with the Udupi District Forest Department, launched an eco-friendly program to plant a thousand trees. The program was inaugurated by lighting a lamp by Udupi Range Forest Officer Varijakshi.
Speaking at the event held at the Range Forest Office near Adi Udupi, Varijakshi mentioned that the Peace Foundation has undertaken an initiative to plant over a thousand saplings in various schools and organizations in the district, with full support from the Forest Department. She hoped that such programs would inspire everyone.
Senior advocate Jayaprakash Kedlaya, who attended the event as a guest, stated that greenery is our lifeline, and a green revolution is needed across the country. He expressed that planting and nurturing trees in as many schools, colleges, and vacant spaces as possible would make our lives meaningful. He added that it is a matter of joy that differently-abled individuals are coming together to plant a thousand trees and contribute to the green revolution.
The event was attended by District Differently Abled and Senior Citizens Empowerment Department Project Assistant Shivaji, Peace Foundation member Jagadish Bhat, industrialist Stanley, journalists Janardhan Kodavoor and Shijit, artist Sandesh, and young entrepreneur K. Sandeep. The event was coordinated by Forest Department staff member Keshav Poojari.
Later, the program was officially inaugurated by planting saplings in the Adi Udupi school premises.
