175 trees set to be cut and ‘reformed’ to make way for Metro

Bengaluru: Union Minister for Parliament Affairs and Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar said that the trees that are said to be cut to make way for the metro routes will be moved to Bommanahalli constituency.
After the inauguration of ‘Bengaluru One’ service centre in Devarachikkanahalli of Bommanahalli, Ananth Kumar said that there cannot be any other alternative to cut the tress for the project. Yet, keeping in mind the environmental factors, the trees will be rehabilitated elsewhere. 56 of such trees which was put down is shifted to Bilekahalli ward he said.
Every Sunday On behalf of Adamya Chetana Foundation of Ananth Kumar ‘Green Day’ is being celebrated in the city where hundreds of saplings will be planted. The ‘Bengaluru-One’ centre is the biggest in the city with over 10 counters and 51 services available under one roof.
