Police officials have successfully thwarted an attempt at ganja smuggling, resulting in the seizure of 2.1 kg of the illicit substance from a truck at Kootelu.
The accused, identified as Raghavendra Amin, allegedly procured the narcotics from Mysore-based Ali Mohammad, also known as Salim Mysore. Amin was intercepted while transporting the contraband in a lorry en route to Mangalore, with intentions of selling the illicit ganja at a significantly inflated price.
Authorities managed to seize 2.1 kg of ganja from Amin, and further investigations led to the discovery of an additional 100 grams of the substance. The accused is believed to have been involved in a significant illegal trade operation, with an estimated value of around Rs 40,000.
