New Delhi: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly killing their sister-in-law in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur as they considered her responsible for the suicide of their brother, police said today.

The incident occurred on July 16. The woman’s family alleged that her brother-in-law Amit and two others stabbed her with a knife.

The woman had married Ayush a year ago. Around two months ago, she returned to her parental house as her husband was unemployed for a few months. Ayush allegedly committed suicide in her absence, police said.

On July 20, accused Amit (19) and Anil (21) were arrested from near the Tughlakabad metro station and based on their interrogation, their accomplice, a juvenile, was apprehended from South Extension today, Chinmoy Biswal, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast), said.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they were upset over their brother’s suicide and even after Ayush’s death, his wife did not return to her in-laws house. This drove them to kill her, police said.
