2-day International Kite Festival inaugurated at Tannirbhavi Beach

Mangaluru: District In-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao highlighted the need for supplementary programs to boost tourism in Dakshina Kannada district, advocating for annual events to be organized consistently on the same day.
He made these remarks on Saturday during the inauguration of the two-day International Kite Festival held at Tannirbhavi Beach under the auspices of Team Mangalore, in collaboration with the District Administration and Tourism Department.
The Kite Festival, which attracted participants from both domestic and international enthusiasts, infused a celebratory spirit.
Minister Gundu Rao expressed delight at witnessing a diverse array of kites, underscoring the importance of such events in enhancing the district’s tourism allure.
In a symbolic gesture, District Collector Mullai Muhilan led attendees in reciting the preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Key dignitaries present at the event included Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Aggarwal, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Anand, MCC Commissioner Anand, ADC Dr. Santhosh, as well as representatives from Team Mangalore, among others.
