2 dead, 4 seriously injured in SUV-lorry accident at Bharamasagara

Chitradurga: An SUV overturned after a collision with a lorry on the National Highway 4 at the Vijapur Gate in Bharamasagara here in the early hours of Monday, June 12.

Police said two of the SUV occupants were killed, while 4 others were seriously injured in the tragic road accident.

A family from Bengaluru was returning after vacationing in Goa when the tragedy struck. The mishap took place while the Fortuner tried to overtake the lorry, police said.

The deceased include a 25-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, police said adding that their identities are yet to be ascertained.

The injured have been rushed to the Chitradurga District Hospital for medical treatment, they added.

Bharamasagara police reached the accident spot and are investigating.
