2 killed, 1 injured in road accident in UP

Ballia (UP): Two people were killed and one person was seriously injured when their motorcycle dashed into an electric pole on the Ballia-Gorakhpur highway, police said today.

Sujit Kumar (28) and Arjun Ram (27) died on the spot in the accident near Aasan village which comes under the jurisdiction of Sukhpura police station, police said.

All the three people were in an inebriated state and were on their way to attend a birthday party, the police said, adding that the injured person was admitted to the district hospital.
