2 teenagers drown at Chikli Hole reservoir

Madikeri: Two teenagers who had ventured into the backwaters of Chikli Hole reservoir ended up drowning. The deceased are identified as Pavan (19) son of Sagaceva, a resident of Scool Bane in Koragara Halli near Suntikoppa and Nandesha (16), son of Subramani, a resident of Kambibane.

Both the victims had ventured into the back water located on the rear side of local Maguru temple. A woman who witnessed them in drowning alerted the locals. Immediately, locals Santhosh, Sudim Devraj and Avaran attempted to rescue the victims using a raft, but to no avail. Later, the team was able to fish out the mortal remains of the deceased.

A case in this regard has been registered at Suntikoppa police station, whose Inspector Jayaram and staff visited the spot and conducted investigation. The corpses were subjected to post mortem at Kushalnagar Government Hospital.
