The deceased, identified as 62-year-old Boja Moolya, a resident of Kanjattur in Kaliye village, Bantwal, was a well-known Ambassador car driver in the area.
He had sustained injuries in a road accident earlier this month.
The accident reportedly occurred on the evening of October 11, around 7 p.m., when he parked his car along the national highway to cross the road toward a nearby chicken stall in Talapady-Baikampady. He was struck by an oncoming bike, which left him with a leg injury and required immediate medical attention at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

However, nearly 19 days after the accident, Moolya began experiencing severe respiratory difficulties at home. He was rushed to a private hospital in Thumbe, but despite all efforts, he passed away on October 29, as confirmed by family sources.
An autopsy was conducted to ascertain the cause of the death.
