20 injured in bus-tanker collision in Belthangady

As many as twenty people were injured following a collision between a tanker lorry and a private bus near Ayyappa Temple in Belthangady at 12.45 pm on Wednesday.
The bus was proceeding from Belthangady to Karkala and the tanker was proceeding from Guruvayanakere to Belthangady. As per reports, the bus moved nearly 10 meters owing to the impact of the collision and hit a rickshaw parked on the roadside.
The injured have been identified as bus driver Arun Kumar (26), conductor Aboobacker (39), tanker driver Sundara Gowda (58), passengers Karthik (19), Abdul Rahiman (48), Yashoda (35), Vijaya (23), Vasanthi (54), Preethi (21), Mamta (30), Mamta (21), Vasanthi (55), Kalyani (55), Padmavathi (37), Raghavendra (36), Narayana Kulal (40), Nagesh Hegde (63), Nagesh Hegde (63). The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Belthangady traffic police registered a case based on the complaint of bus driver Arun Kumar.
