20 inmates, 6 officials of Parappana Agrahara test positive for COVID-19

Bengaluru: As many as 26 persons including 20 inmates and six officials of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail have tested positive for COVID-19.

A sample of about 150 people was taken from jail three days ago. In the report, 26 of them have tested positive.

In addition to this, those who were recently arrested have also started to show symptoms of the virus. The officials will collect more samples on Friday.

All those who were diagnosed with the infection were detained a month ago and were under interrogation. As a precautionary measure, everyone were kept separate.

Meanwhile, a staff working at the Prison Officers’ Office near Freedom Park was also tested positive.
