The facelifted version of the Ford EcoSport sub-compact SUV was uncovered at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Set to land in US in Q1 2018, it will be the situated lower than the Ford Escape and will be the littlest SUV to be offered there. As the new minimal SUV will be fabricated in India and sent out to US, the probabilities of a bigger 2.0L engine prepared 4WD model can’t be precluded for our market sooner rather than later.
The world debut has been facilitated at the 2016 LA Auto Show before going discounted universally ahead of schedule early next year. The EcoSport is the brand’s best selling display in our local market and accordingly we anticipate that a dispatch will happen amid the last quarter of next year.
Offered in a monstrous 18 trims levels, the current EcoSport begins with a cost of Rs.6.93 lakh for the passage level Ambiente variant and it goes up to Rs.9.93 lakh for the range-topping Black Edition.
It is predicted that there will be a increase in price between Rs.30,000 and Rs.40,000 acroos all variants when new EcoSport comes up for sale.
The Ford EcoSport facelift will have the same 1.5-litre petrol mill as the power source alongside the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged engine all along for India. The transmission options will continue to be a standard five-speed manual or a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Ford may not take risks and incorporate the mooted 1.5-litre normally suctioned three-barrel Dragon petrol engine, for Latin American market, into India. Therefore, the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel will continue to feature in the facelifted model as well.
The 2017 facelift and the outgoing version have more or less same measurement. It as of now has length of 3,999 mm, width of 1,765 mm, stature of 1,708 mm with 2,520 mm wheelbase. Tipping the measuring scale at 1.2 tonnes, Ford could bring down the kerb weight for enhanced taking care of and expanded cheapness. The boot space limit will probably stay at 346 litres other than having a fuel tank limit of 52 litres.
On the interior side, the facelift will get a new dashboard with improved centre console including less buttons. There will also be presence of a newly designed multi-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, the high-positioned latest SYNC3 infotainment system with a new colour display allowing for navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration along with a revised instrument cluster, fast-charging USB ports, two 12-volt power outlets and a 110-volt outlet and new rectangular AC vents.
Some more features are believed to be added for safety measures. The facelifted EcoSport should manage the persistent fame of the Brezza, it should manage the Mahindra TUV300 also. Be that as it may, the exceedingly encouraging Maruti Ignis smaller scale SUV, expected one year from now, could make the life significantly harder for the upcoming facelift.
