Bengaluru: Former Union Minister and Congress MP P. Chidambaram said on Tuesday that the 2019 General Elections will decide the fate of India for the next several years. He said that the Karnataka Assembly Elections will decide the results of the elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, which will impact the 2019 polls as well.
“In the 2019 polls, the major plank is are we going down the road of a Hindu rashtra, one culture, one history, one religion, one language, one code of behaviour or are we going to win back the kind of India that we still dream of- multi-cultural, plural, multi-religious, multi-lingual and tolerant,” he said. He emphasized on the opinion that if the Congress wins in Karnataka, it will impact the elections in the other three states. He also added that Congress President Rahul Gandhi was the “natural and only choice” to be elected as the PM, if the party wins the 2019 elections.
