23 iPhones seized from passenger at Bengaluru airport

Bengaluru: A passenger, who arrived at the Kempe Gowda International Airport here from Bangkok, was caught smuggling 23 iPhones.

Customs officials checked the travel documents of the male passenger after finding him behaving suspiciously. His luggage was thoroughly searched when the documents were found to have a history of smuggling contraband into the country.

The search found a total of 23 iPhone Pro Max mobiles in the handbag he was carrying.

The value of the confiscated phones is estimated to be Rs 34.47 lakhs.

Meanwhile, the accused has been arrested and a case has been registered. An investigation is in progress, officials said.
