25-year-old murdered by friends for money

Bengaluru: A man was strangled to death by his friends after robbing his money and valuables in Parappana Agrahara.

The deceased is identified as Pradeep Kumar (25), a resident of Kudlu.

It is gathered that on Monday, January 28, Pradeep had left home but did not return home. His mother, Jayalakshmi after waiting for two days missing complaint with the Parappana Agrahara police on Wednesday, January 30. 

The police who conducted the investigation found Pradeep’s body on Friday, February 1 inside a stormwater drain.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Pradeep had visited his friend Kulla Manja ’s house for a chat while he was returning back home. During their chat, Manja noticed Pradeep having a large ward of cash and hatched a plan to murder him with his associates Madhu, Thimma and Gurumurthy. Later the four men strangled Pradeep to death, wrapped his body in a plastic bag and dumped it in a stormwater drain before fleeing with Kumar’s cash, ATM card, mobile phone and scooter.

The police are currently in search of the accused, who went absconding after the incident.
