25-year-old youth trampled to death by wild tusker

Bengaluru: A youth was trampled to death by a wild elephant on Wednesday, December 25 near Torebekuppe village of Kanakapura taluk, Ramanagar district.

The deceased has been identified as Chetan (25), aresident of Torebekuppe village.

As per sources, the incident took place when Chetan and his three friends had gone out for a walk with torches along Kodihalli Main Road. When they reached Ankachari Doddi, a wild tusker ravaging the ragi crop in an adjoining field attacked them. While the others escaped, Chethan was trampled to death.

Following the incident, villagers blocked the main road and staged a protest with the body of the deceased.
