Kathmandu/Bengaluru: No less than 250 pilgrims from Karnataka are stranded in a small town in Nepal after substantial rains caused landslips along the course of the Kailash Manasarovar yatra.

As indicated by authorities of the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC), the pilgrims planned the tour  through a private religion TV channel.

With substantial rains and landslides, they are stranded at Simikot Town, Nepal, which is near the passage point to Tibet. Only mini-airplanes can ply the territory attributable to the climate conditions. A large portion of the poeple from the State are from Ramanagaram, Mandya, and Bengaluru.

Reports have poured in that in excess of 500 pilgrims from the nation over are stranded at Simikot.

The Indian Embassy has tweeted to those connecting for help that it is “aware of the situation and taking all necessary action for safety and comfort of the pilgrims”.

SEOC authorities were informed of the landslide by Mallesh, who was one among the stranded pilgrims in the zone. Authorities said while the pilgrims were not in impending danger, they need food and water.

The Karnataka Disaster Monitoring Center is in contact with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Nepal to safeguard the stranded.

In 2016, after 500 Indians got stranded, the Indian Embassy had issued a warning requesting that pilgrims take alternative roads.
