26 kg poppy seized, 2 held

Jammu: Two inter-state narcotic smugglers were arrested and 26 kg of poppy was seized from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district today, police said.
Based on a tip-off, a police party intercepted a truck at Dhar road in Udhampur and during its search seized 26 kg of poppy, a police officer said.
Following the seizure, Parminder Singh of Nawasher belt and Kashmiri Lal of Hoshiyarpur in Punjab were arrested, he added.
A case has been registered at police station Udhampur and further investigation is on, the officer said.
